RFID is very useful in educational process. Keeping an RFID updated teachers can keep an eye on students and their activities. RFID placed on the entrance can take automatic attendance of whole class and hence it won’t be difficult for the teachers to call names each time. Information what ever recorded can be deleted each day and hence a track of students activities can kept of every day. But this program is opposed by many. People think it is insecure, invasive and intrusive to capture all the activities of students. Apart from this, RFID can be used to purchase educational things like books, stationary items and so on. It has a wide application on educational sector. Radio Frequency Identification is considered as insecure as it can copy the signatures which can cause issues for the educational institution using this methodology. RFID technology is implemented in libraries to record about the copies of the books being issued, number of the copies and the usage of the books in the library. Apart from this a security level is also maintained by keep RFID in the school and college libraries. In colleges libraries have internet security and hence RFID play an important role in checking what type of sites students use and it helps in surfing trusted websites online giving a good education and an environment of knowledge.
This will reduce the number of staff needed in libraries to monitor the students and hence useful in the educational sector. Bar code numbers can be provided for each book to know about its details and hence to keep a track of each book being issued for students as well as teachers. Similarly in the campus book store also this method can be adopted to keep a recorded of the selling details of each item by placing a bar code. Thus RFID can prove very useful in providing good overall quality education.
